Senior Advisor, Food Safety
Freeman Libby is a food safety consultant with over 45 year’s experience in food safety including 35 years in food regulatory programs with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. He has international experience having performed food safety reviews in Peru, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Freeman retired from the CFIA in 2009 after successfully leading a National Task Force working with the provinces and national associations in developing and implementing regulations and controls aimed at eliminating “Mad Cow” (BSE) disease in Canada. His areas of specialization include crisis and project management, Food Safety Management and Audit Systems, and Program Reviews. Freeman is a certified lead auditor for BRCGS and FSSC 22000 having performed over 100 BRC food audits and 50 FSSC Audits, is HACCP and PCQI certified and performs training in food safety.
